The full schedule and everything else you need to know are in the all-singing, all-dancing Welcome Guide. Recommended reading for all dancers! The exact details and timings are subject to change.
The compact schedule for the 2026 edition of Oxford Lindy Exchange is below.
Entry to the after-parties may be limited by the venue capacity, so a crowd check at the door may be in effect.
Activities
Friday Night Afterparty
Join us after the Friday welcome party for a hangout in the Royal Blenheim Pub with DJ’d funk & soul tunes and good vibes.
@ The Royal Blenheim, 13 Saint Ebbe’s Street
Saturday: Morning Parkrun
For the early birds on Saturday, there are two parkrun locations in Oxford’s beautiful parks: University Parks and Cutteslowe & Sunnymead Park. Visit their pages to find out about the courses and where to meet.
This is not organised by Oxford Lindy Hoppers, but we know some of our dancers love to start the day with some extra exercise.
Saturday: Tour of Port Meadow
Get your daily dose of nature and come to Oxford’s famous Port Meadow. The whole meadow is classified as a scheduled monument, leading it to be called “Oxford’s oldest monument”.
Wander together and soak up some fascinating facts. Bring your binoculars, sun hats and water to explore the rich history of this ancient grazing land as well as a famed literary setting (Philip Pullman fans, assemble!).
Meet Aditya at the “Elmthorpe Road” bus stop. Take bus route no. 6 or ST2 to Wolvercote. The same buses also drops you outside St Edwards School on the way back to Oxford City.

Saturday: OLX Picnic
OLX would not be complete without a picnic, including dancing and games. This is the perfect time to kindle new friendships and reignite old ones. BYO picnic!
12-2.30pm Saturday outside Olivier Hall, St Edward’s School
Saturday: Talk with Trisha Sewell
From Harlem to the Isles: Tracing the Journey of Lindy Hop in Britain
We’re so excited to welcome Trisha Sewell back to Oxford for this year’s OLX, where she’ll be giving one of her incredible talks just for us. She’ll take us through Lindy Hop’s arrival through film, music, and wartime exchanges, its decline in the post-war years, and the foundations that later enabled the UK’s resurgence of interest in the dance – presented through a blend of history and cultural context. Find out more, and do not miss it!
2.30-4pm Saturday @ Olivier Hall, St Edward’s School
Saturday & Sunday: dance Tasters
We have three dance tasters on offer for OLX this year, all in styles that we have a particular fondness for in Oxford.
All @ Olivier Hall, St Edward’s School
Saturday 1.30pm – Collegiate Shag, probably the silliest of swing dances (groovy baby!)
Saturday 4pm – Blues, to get you ready for Saturday night’s afterparty with the incredible Ma Bessie
Sunday 12pm – Foxtrot, for something completely different
Sunday: A Journey Through Jazz
Our Sunday band, Duncan Hemstock and His Allstars are giving us an absolute treat with two hours of extra music before the party even starts. They’ll take us on a guided stroll through the history of Jazz, starting with gospel music, marches and early jazz before finding their way to Boogaloo, Bossa Nova and Soul. Perfect for spectators as well as dancers.
1.15-3.15pm @ Olivier Hall, St Edward’s School
And check out the FOUR incredible live bands who will be joining us at OLX this year for Friday night, Saturday night, Saturday Blues afterparty and Sunday tea dance.
