This is a beautiful and fun venue modelled on the structure of medieval banquet halls, and where many of Oxford Lindy Hoppers’ events take place. So it’s where we open OLX 2026.

Travel
We recommend travelling to Oxford by public transport. Oxford is not a car-friendly city, with parking spaces in the city centre sparse and expensive.
Travelling to Oxford
Oxford is well connected via trains and buses to most major cities in the UK.
Trains: check www.thetrainline.com, for Oxford Railway Station, and Oxford Parkway Station.
Buses: check www.nationalexpress.com. For buses from London, check Oxford Tube www.oxfordtube.com in addition to the National Express, as they usually run every 15-20 minutes most of the day.
Airport: The closest and most convenient airport to Oxford is London Heathrow, then London Gatwick. You can use the Airline bus service directly to Oxford: airline.oxfordbus.co.uk. Other airports are more complicated to reach from Oxford.
IMPORTANT: Visitors from outside the UK, including from mainland Europe, will need an Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) – this is a new regulation that came into effect on 2nd April 2025. An ETA costs just under €20, and you apply online. You should get an answer in minutes, but leave yourself 3 working days to be on the safe side. Travelling around Oxford
Buses: We recommend you get the Day Pass (£5, valid till 0100 of following day) for the Oxford SmartZone. Take a look at the map for all the routes you can travel on: View SmartZone map. There is no point in buying a single ticket, as two singles cost nearly as much as a Day Pass. Please note, Stagecoach no longer accept return tickets issued by Oxford Bus Company or Thames Travel.
Cycle: You can cycle to both the venues and around Oxford, with enough bike stands. Please lock your bike to one with a sturdy lock (or two).
Car: If you are planning to travel to Oxford by car, we recommend using one of the Park & Ride services around the city. Locations can be found here: Park and Ride sites around Oxford
Parking within the St. Edward’s School is for Blue Badge Holders only. There is some free parking in South Parade and the surrounding roads from 6.30 pm on weekdays and all day on Sundays.
Travel to St. Edward’s School
St Edward’s is located in Summertown, just two miles north of Oxford city centre (Magdalen Street, stop C1). Take the No. 2/2A bus – every 10 minutes, or No. 6 bus – every 15 minutes.
For those travelling from outside of Oxford, it’s a short journey by bus from both Pear Tree and Oxford Parkway Park & Rides. The school is also easily accessible by bus from Oxford railway station (S3 bus) and Oxford Parkway railway station (2 bus), both just two miles from the school. Taxis are also available outside the stations.
